The Listening Booth

Supportive listening session — with a registered counsellor
Sometimes you don’t want advice. You don’t want to be analysed.
You just want a calm, private space to say what’s on your mind.
In The Listening Booth, you talk. A registered counsellor listens with minimal input — just enough to let you know they’re there and listening.
It’s built around one thing: being heard.

How it works
-
You talk
-
I listen (minimal encouragers like “mm”, “go on”, “take your time”)
-
Occasional brief reflections to make sure I’m tracking (“it sounds like…”)
-
A short, optional summary at the end (only if you want)
-

Why this can help (plain neuroscience, very short)
Being listened to without judgement can help your brain:
-
reduce emotional load
-
settle mental “noise”
-
organise thoughts as you speak
(No polyvagal language.)

What this is (and isn’t)

This is for: people who want a private space to talk, offload, and be heard.
This is not: crisis or emergency support, diagnosis/assessment, or structured therapy work (skills programs, exposure work, treatment plans).
If you want a more active, structured approach, please book a standard counselling session instead.
Privacy & confidentiality

Your session is confidential, with legal and safety exceptions (explained in consent).
If you are at immediate risk or need urgent help, please contact 000, Lifeline 13 11 14, or 13YARN 13 92 76.
