Stuck-patterns counselling is a gentle, neuroscience-informed approach that helps people understand the protective emotional, behavioural, and relationship patterns that formed earlier in life — and how those patterns show up today. It’s not about blame. It’s not about pathology. It’s about understanding why your system does what it does, so you can create more choice and less reactivity.

Below is what you can expect in both individual and couples sessions.

Individual Sessions (1:1)

1. A slower pace that respects your nervous system

We don’t dive into overwhelming content. We begin with where your body, emotions, and thoughts feel safe to start.

2. Mapping your stuck patterns

Together we explore:

  • How your system tends to respond under stress

  • What triggers certain reactions

  • What shuts you down

  • What helps you stay regulated

  • How old protective patterns still show up today

This is done gradually, without pressure.

3. Understanding the “function” of your patterns

Instead of “What’s wrong with me?”

We ask:“What is this part of me trying to protect?”

This helps reduce shame and increases clarity.

4. Building skills for stability and choice

You learn practical tools for:

  • grounding

  • regulation

  • interrupting automatic loops

  • finding safer ways to respond

  • increasing emotional bandwidth

  • shifting old patterns gently

5. Optional deeper work (when ready)

Only at your pace, and only if it feels safe, we may explore:

  • emotional memory

  • developmental origins of certain patterns

  • meaning-making

  • attachment wounds

  • long-standing relational habits

Nothing is forced. You’re in control of the pace and depth.
